Our mission is to promote the prevention of Spina Bifida and to enhance the lives of all affected.

I am happy to announce that Colleen Payne will be joining the staff at SBAK.  She will become our new Program Coordinator starting the end of March.

We are very sad to say good bye to Jennifer Riley.  Jennifer has been a wonderful asset to SBAK and we will miss her greatly.  Jennifer has been approached with an opportunity that she just couldn’t pass up.  Her new position is going to benefit her and her family.

When Jennifer had to make the difficult decision to leave us, we were very fortunate to find Colleen as the perfect replacement.  Colleen not only has her masters in communication and a great work experience, she is also a mother of a child with Spina Bifida.  She understands all the joys and challenges associated with Spina Bifida.  She is a wonderful resource and we are happy to have her on our team.

We hope you will continue to visit us through the website.  We are still working behind the scenes to make this website a great resource.

We appreciate all our supporters so much!  We wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for the generosity of people like you!

Special thanks to Kosair Charities for being our major funder!  We appreciate their partnership beyond words.

Thanks to WHAS Crusade for Children too!  They help support us too.

Please let us know if there is something you would like to see or read about on this site.  Our doors and phone lines are always open!

Congratulations Colleen!

Patty Dissell

Executive Director
